This is why I like to take good care of my skin and why I don't mind spending a little extra on these products. Because I know that when I'll look into the mirror some 30 years from now, I'll thank myself for this decision.
Now, growing up my skin has never been a great friend of mine. Since I turned 13 the pimples just kept coming with no end. I began to clean my face twice a day and have since then been through countless of skincare products. Here I'll share my current products and what I think of them.
1. Clinique Liquid Facial Soap - Oily Skin Formula
I've lost count of the many facial cleansers I've tried throughout the years but one I always seem to come back to is this one. When I don't know which cleanser to try out next, this is usually the one I'll find myself buying.
It's good at controlling my annoying, oily T-zone and it has helped a lot with the break outs. Since it's fragrance free it doesn't really have a scent, which is kind of a shame if you ask me. Other than that, it feels nice when applied and my skin feels fresh and clean afterwards which is a wonderful feeling after a long, hard day. All in all, I don't think you can ever go wrong with Clinique's liquid facial soap, so if you haven't tried it yet and are looking for a good cleanser, this one's definitely worth a try!
I've been using this moisturizer for about two months now and I have to say that it's wonderful! It has a great consistency and a fresh smell of cucumber. As mentioned before, I have an oily T-zone, which I think this cream is great for as it's oil free and keeps the shine under control. The SPF is also a bonus, even though the sun hardly shows its' pretty face here way up north in Denmark. However, I know that there are other - and cheaper - creams out there which offer the same benefits as this one does, so if you're not a big spender when it comes to moisturizers, I'd go with something else. Otherwise, I'd definitely recommend you to give this one a go!
3. Estee Lauder Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator
I've always been very fond of Estee Lauder. I like their cleansers, moisturizers and so on, so when I saw this little bottle here back of a magazine I read, I just knew I had to try it. So I bought it after trying a mini bottle I got for free which I was really fond of. Boy, was that the worst £60 ever spent. The only positive thing to be said about this serum is the smell which I find to be a lovely subtle citrus scent. Beside that there were no differences to be spotted after having used almost the entire bottle. As a matter of fact, it would make my skin irritated and sensitive if I used it morning and evening. Because of that I only use this serum in the mornings as it works as a primer for applying my BB cream (and secretly also because I don't want to feel like I completely wasted my money!) Bottom line is that I advise against buying this serum unless you like to throw your money out of the window.
4. Ole Henriksen Truth Serum - Collagen Booster
As a Dane it's a must to try at least one Ole Henriksen product. Since I'm not able to use my Estee Lauder Idealist serum in the evenings, I decided to treat myself to this serum (along with a face cleanser and an eye cream) and I must say that Mr. Henriksen's products are really growing on me.
This little wonder has an divine fruity scent which makes me think of summer and good times. It's packed with vitamin C and antioxidants, keeping the skin protected while preventing further damage, and it also evens out skintone and help the appearance of aging - honestly, what more could you wish for in a serum?
The consistency is a bit more watery than other serums I've used and it feels a bit sticky when you apply it to your face which I had to get used to. But besides that it's a wonderful, wonderful product which I'm very satisfied with and would definitely buy again!
