Paris pt. 3

Happy Easter everyone!
This will be the third and final part of my Paris adventures, and I promise to make this one short - or, at least shorter than the last post ;)

As I mentioned in my last post, we went to the Louvre museum Saturday.

Since beating the queue worked so well by going early last time at the Eiffel Tower we decided to opt for the same tactic again, and it worked. There was barely a queue when we got there around 10 o'clock and the lack of the many people was a delight when browsing through the many things in the museum.
I even managed to get a fairly decent shot of the Mona Lisa, which I imagine could be somewhat of a challenge on busy days/times during the day. When we were done touring the museum around 11-12 o'clock we definitely felt a significant boost of people at the museum, so I definitely recommend going early to get a better experience!

From the Louvre we decided to see some more of Paris by walking to the Notre Dame.

On our way there we passed this cute little store and the inner kid in me just couldn't resist..

In my imaginary world I would have bought the entire store, but in reality we just walked away with one (yummy) lollipop each.. haha.

I'm sorry the picture of the Notre Dame isn't better, or even complete, but they built this huge balcony-ish thing right in front of it, which people could walk up and sit on, but it kind of made it hard to take good pictures..

That evening I realized that we also lived really close to the Moulin Rouge (which I don't recall my travel guide book mentioning, so keep that in mind if you're using the same one!), so we went there for an evening stroll..

Paris is so beautiful at night, don't you think?

We started off by visiting Sacré Cœur the last day and then went on to do some shopping..

A trip to Paris is not complete without some street artists, am I right?

And that's basically it folks! I hope you've enjoyed my Paris posts (even though they've been quite lenghty) and that they've maybe even inspired some of you to visit Paris, which truly is a magical, must-see city.

I wish you all an amazing day. xx

Paris pt. 2 - Dining in Paris

After some consideration I decided to make the part two of my Paris adventure about food! I'm a huge food lover and since I tried to be a good blogger, I got pictures of most of the food we had in Paris, so I thought I'd sum it all up in one big post about dining in Paris.

As we arrived around 4-5 at our hotel the first night, our dinner plan was just to walk around the area until we found something we'd like. We ended up at Le Nouveau Carillon, which looked like a cosy little restaurant..

I liked the interior design with the many clocks hanging on the wall and people sitting outside just having a drink and people watching. Somehow it felt very Paris-ish to me :)

They had happy hours from 6 to 8, so I decided to go for a Long Island Iced Tea, which came with a glow stick!

We both ordered steaks with béarnaise sauce, but me with salad on the side and my boyfriend with fries..

Looks yummy, right? I absolutely adored the little thing the fries came in. I wanted to sneak it in my bag and bring it home, haha!

I really liked the restaurant, the food and the friendly staff. If you're ever in Paris and are in the Montmarte area, I'd definitely recommend you going there! :)

The next day we also ate in the Montmarte area. We'd been to the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Élysées (which you can read about here) so we were tired when we got back to the hotel a little before dinner time. I looked through our travel guide (the Pocket Paris by Lonely Planet which I highly recommend!) for restaurant suggestions and we decided to try one named Le Relais Gascon.

The book suggested to go for a big bowl of salad with chips which was loved by the locals, so that's what I did.. It was with chicken, parmesan cheese and onion sauce.

My boyfriend, on the other hand, isn't the biggest veggie guy and decided to go for a steak again, haha..

It came with veggies, chips and a delicious pepper sauce..
I must admit that I preferred Le Nouveau Carillon over this. The chips were kind of boring, and the salad too, actually..

Saturday was our anniversary and seeing as the weather could've been better, we went to the Louvre museum to pay the famous Mona Lisa a visit. Our travel guide recommended this place called Le Café Marly which was right beside Louvre so that's where we went for lunch..

Again, I put my full faith in the book's recommendation and went for the pasta which they described to be "sumptuous".

Luckily, this time it didn't disappoint! The pasta was just perfectly prepared and so delicious!
My boyfriend went for some spring rolls which were also nice, albeit few, which was a shame..

Next - which was also our last - day *sniff* in Paris we went to Sacré-Cœur. The night before we had googled online for good restaurants in Paris and we came across this pizzaria on Tripadvisor called Babalou, which was ranked #9 out of 9153 restaurants in Paris!! It was superclose to the church we were planning on visiting plus it had such a funny name so we decided that we just had to go there, haha.

The place was so cosy and had a really homey feeling. They had just opened when we came, so we got to pick the best table. We picked one by the window which had a view of the church. The staff was so sweet and chatty and I just cannot recommend this place enough!

That night we went to a sushi place close to our hotel called Naoko.

My mouth is watering as I'm writing this because that is just how delicious it was. Although the check did give the sushi a real run for their money.. It was just such a pleasant surprise, how cheap it was! I have never had sushi that cheap, and I never would've thought it possible to get sushi at that price in Paris, but it is!
So if you love sushi but also love decent prices, this is definitely the sushi place to visit!

Now I didn't mean for this post to be this lenghty but I hope that you nonetheless enjoyed it and maybe got inspired for some places to go if/when you're in Paris :) I wish you all a wonderful weekend <3 xx

Ps. I just received my anniversary gift from my lovely boyfriend. You can get a sneak peek on my Instagram here. I'll also make a little post about it soon.

Paris pt. 1

I'm back from Paris!! And even though I already miss the beautiful, old city I must admit that nothing beats home <3 I know that I've been absent on my trip but I promise that I've tried to be a good blogger by carring my camera with me everywhere and taking pictures of everything! .. or well, made my boyfriend carry it and take most of the pictures, but that's not the point, right? ;)

Anyway, I've already shown you guys some pictures on Instagram, but I thought that I should post some better quality ones taken with my camera. I haven't had time to edit all the photos yet and it's getting late, so I decided that this post will be part one of my Paris adventure.

We stayed at a hotel close to Pigalle station, which was a constant reminder of these pretty Christian Louboutin stilettos that I've been coveting for quite some time now.. I even tried them on in one of their stores in Paris, but just couldn't justify the price tag.. sigh! Anyway, back to the main adventure ;)

Of course, the Eiffel Tower would be the first stop. We got up early Saturday morning to be able to take a walk and explore a little bit of Paris while still beating the crowds when we would arrive at the tower. Luckily we succeeded and soon we began climbing the stairs to the second floor :)

Unfortunately, it was quite cloudy when we arrived so we didn't bother to go all the way to the top, as not much could be seen..

By then it was only around 11 o'clock, so we decided to cross the bridge to the beautiful palace and then walk from there to Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Élysées for some lunch and shopping

I know it doesn't look bad on this picture, but trust me when I say that the traffic around Arc de Triomphe was crazy - I almost got a heart attack just from watching the chaos! I don't think I'd ever be able to drive here ;)

While we were walking down Champs-Élysées I saw a Ladurée...

... and then I just couldn't resist!
While I was spending lots of money there buying macarons for friends and family, I saw the keychains which I'd fallen in love with some time ago

Aren't they just beautiful?
I honestly wanted to grab all of them but again, I couldn't justify the price! I had a huge internal debate about whether or not to buy one (either the green or purple one) but when I saw how much I'd already spent on the cash register I went with my better judgement and walked away :(

Later that day we had some great dinner and did some more evening shopping at Galaries Lafayette which wasn't too far from where we stayed, but I think I'll include that in part two :)
Now I should probably head to bed as it's getting really late and I have to get up early tomorrow to drive my parents to the airport. I can't believe they're going to Nice when there's going to be more snow here in Denmark in the upcoming days! Sigh..

Oh, and one last thing: I just made a Facebook page today, so feel free to go and like the page and stay updated on my latest posts! :)

I hope you've all had a wonderful day. Part two will be posted soon. xx
